Your Seasonal Spring Car Maintenance Checklist

Spring is the time of year when you are itching to get outside, drive around, roll down your windows, and enjoy the fresh air. It's also the best time to check your vehicle from top to bottom to make sure everything is in working order. So that you can enjoy the season with the use of your vehicle now and in future months, check out our spring car maintenance checklist!

1. Replace Your Cabin Air Filter

Throughout the year, dust and debris collects in your cabin air filter, causing clogs and even damage. A clogged or damaged air filter makes it easy for pollen and other spring allergens to circulate throughout your car. To keep clean air flowing through your vehicle and engine, be sure to replace your air filter this spring season.

2. Check Tire Condition and Pressure

Spring is a good time to make sure your tires are in good shape with measurable tread. Air pressure fluctuates, especially with changing temperatures. To get the most out of your tires and reduce excess wear and tear, ensure they are properly inflated.

3. Check Under Your Car

Road conditions throughout the winter could have caused damage or corrosion to your car’s undercarriage. Potholes and road salt can also cause hidden problems. Spring is a good time to inspect your car’s suspension system and make any necessary repairs.

4. Check the A/C

As temperatures start to increase during the spring, it won't be long before you'll be reaching for the A/C. To ensure your car’s A/C is fully functional when you need it, have your A/C inspected now before summer hits.

5. Replace Worn Windshield Wiper Blades

Windshield wipers take a beating over the winter and the rubber wears out. Replace worn wiper blades to make sure you can count on them to clear the windshield completely with no streaks and give you a clear view this spring season.

6. Test Lights

Check all the lights on your vehicle, including headlights and high beams, turn signals, hazard lights, brake, and back-up lights. Replace any burnt out bulbs to make sure you can see where you are going in the dark and other drivers know your intentions. It's important for safe operation to make sure all of your lights work.
